Tips For Catch Up With Fashion Trends

I’ve usually heard people complaining about how the fashion trends change so frequently and how hard to follow the newest fashion trend. Especially in this high speed developing information time, the fashion trends change even faster. For those who are really conscious about how they look, dressing up can be quite a challenge especially if you have no idea what works and what doesn’t. If it’s any consolation, fashion genres get revived every couple of years making it practical for you to keep that pair of skinny jeans even after the flair for it has already sizzled out. Trends usually stay on and become favorites for a maximum of three years before they slowly fade away and are replaced by new styles. For those who are fascinated with fashion, there are several useful ways for you to catch up with the trend.
In this internet times, keeping yourself updated with the latest fashion trends is really simple. You can find tons of websites online that are specifically created to keep users posted on what’s hot in the fashion industry. You can find forecasts on the upcoming styles for the season. With just a click of the mouse, you can get access to a load of information on new trends in clothing and accessories. Top fashion designers even maintain their own websites to show their new collections straight from the runways. Besides, each season brings on a new collection of trends that will define the look of that period. If you want to get a glimpse of what you’re going to see on the streets, fashion shows are the best source of information. While these events are exclusive to fashion magazine editors and celebrities, you can still watch them through various fashion TV stations.
In addition, if you want a more condensed version of what the runway has offered for this season, go get yourself the latest issue of a good fashion magazine. These materials also offer valuable tips on how to wear the latest trends so you don’t end up looking like a fashion victim. Some magazines usually cater to ordinary people who want to dress up appropriately so you can get more than just a heads up of what’s going to be popular in terms of clothing and accessories. You’ll also be updated on how to look good in certain pieces. When the skinny jeans first attracted consumer attention, fashion magazines started providing advice on how to wear them for different body types. Moreover, more than ever before, new fashions emerge democratically on the street. So keep an eye out for the fashion experts who make their look work without fashion degrees and on a limited budget. This can be one of the most exciting areas of fashion where the people show the professionals how it’s done!
When catching up the latest fashion trends, there is one suggestion that you need to remember. These fashion trends come and go. What may look good today may merit a ticket from the fashion police in a couple of years. While it’s perfectly fine to dress up according to the trend, don’t let yourself become a fashion slave. If you should feel the need to update your wardrobe, select a few choice pieces and mix them with whatever you have in your closet.

What Color Are You?

Lets put the boring, overdone red & pink nails aside, with the wide selection of nail color selections out there we have the chance to let our nails show off our wide side. That said, every single crazy polish color says one thing about the individual who wears it, their style, their individuality and their outlook on life. Here is a list of some of nail varnish colors that take their wearer for a walk on the wild side & a small about what they say about you.
Silver
The shiny glint of silver has usually been tasteful & looks terrific on short, shapely nails. Believe it or not, the wearer of silver is normally additional refined and classic than those who opt for golden colors. Nonetheless a steely glint also implies inner strength underneath the shine. Those who opt for silver are normally extremely adaptable and able to dress up even the most bland of outfits, just like the color.
Gold
By any standards Gold is a showy color no matter whether it’s got a metallic gleam or a warm, buttery yellow glow. Gold is the real color of revenue and generally displayed as a sign of 1, but beware it doesn’t constantly make that impression – often less is additional. This warm color can dress up any occasion and those who pick out it tend to be warm, engaging and take pleasure in the spotlight in social scenarios.
Glitter
Glitter in any color is daring and bold, & worn correct it offers a glamourous sparkle to any ensemble. This is a tricky polish to pull off & can only be worn by teenagers and those with the proper style. Big chunky glitter has a dramatic flare & is typically chosen by those who want a smashing initial impact. Smaller glitter suits a wider selection of personalities and tend to be worn by those who are young at heart.
Black
Even though frequently written off as a vampy color, black isn’t just for depressed teenagers anymore. There is an element of class that goes along with jet black nails, shiny or matte. This is a power color that reflects the strength of those who wear it. Looks classic on brief, square nails – (lengthy nails just says ‘vampy’) & paired with the correct outfit says additional chic than goth.
Yellow
Even though it is a sunny, pleased color, it’s not continually an simple 1 to pull off on nails. Deciding on the ideal yellow for your skin sort is critical, but the right shade can brighten everyone’s day. Frequently worn by people today who appreciate the small things (like rainbows) and have a youthful spirit they like to share. Men and women who love yellow can be a small blue, but typically a bright, lively color helps to alter that.
Blue
Blue is a color that most people can appreciate for its cool, calming properties. Not typically worn as an indication of overall mood, blue tends to choose persons up by supplying them a moment of tranquility. From light to dark those who choose blue are usually nature lovers who can appreciate a cloudless sky & the power of the ocean tides.
What Color Are You?
This is not a total list by any means, there are a countless variety of polish colors out there. Nonetheless, these are some of the much more favorite of the wild shades that individuals use to convey their moods & personalities.

Fall Teen Apparel-Fashion Accessories Trends

Even teens who focus on their summer beachfront time know about the looming U.S. debt crisis. On a personal note, they realize that means another year of honing their ‘frugal fashionista’ skills when it comes to buying teen apparel.
While many local sellers are price-cutting left and right to further improve the dismal summer sales, there are other options.
Check out the online options that might not have a presence at your local mall. Appearing simply in response to your Google inquiry tell you that you are dealing with savvy entrepreneurs who know online ‘real estate.’ If so, they’re savvy sufficient to provide competitive temptations to make frugal fashionistas smile.
Take, for example, the new fall fashion accessories trends. It’s all about ethnic, artisanal bracelets, donned alone or stacked up your arm. Many are selling at prohibitive prices at the mall teen apparel stores.
Go online and you can get the true thing-from the Maasai in Kenya or native Guatemalan women- in true colours that defy comparison with the greater pricey copies. The colours can be mixed and matched or uniform, your choice. These are the very same looks that have been spotted on the international runways, now brought to you online, normally with costless shipping. Why go to the mall and pay more?
This year, perhaps more than ever, it’s about value and quality in the teen apparel market. Don’t settle for less, when online offers more.
I have personally compared mall offerings with what I’ve been able to get online and online always wins-hands down. using a little bit of Googling, you can land in some great places with out ever leaving home. (And let’s offer with it, since you Google for groundwork too, it’s not a bad thought to acquire in some early practice before school starts. That way it won’t be this type of shock to the system!)
Check out the boho chic items online. If you combination and match them creatively, you’re heading to be the envy of your classmates. Colorful beads and a lace skirt–with combat boots? It definitely functions today.
Fashion in the teen apparel urban chic world means trying combinations previously unheard of. Spliced leggings with short boots, a tiered skirt, chiffon best and beaded cuffs up your arm… what else do you have up your sleeve?
Keep ‘em guessing. That’s half the fun. You can shop economically, develop a fabulous-and unique-teen apparel wardrobe- and have a blast while performing it. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Nail Art Is One Of The Trends That Have Dominated The Fashion World

Every woman is concerned about making each part of her body more attractive. This is something that can never be changed. It is normal for a woman to desire that she will look lovelier as time goes by.

Nail art is one of the trends that have dominated the world of fashion and beauty nowadays. A lot of salons are now offering this service. Manicure services can be more than simple; it can be stylish, fashionable and artistic.

Nail art is simply defined as applying decorative designs on your nails. It’s a good way of enhancing your look and accessorizing yourself based on what will match the outfit that you’re wearing. The usual tools used for decorating the nails are precious stones, metals, stickers, beads, glitters, plastic stars, plastic flowers and others. There are also nail art printers that will stamp the design that you like on your fingernails.

Nail art is not just about decorating your nails; it is also a great way to express yourself. People will be able to get an idea of what kind of person you are through the design you’ve chosen.

If you want to save money, you do not have to go to a nail care salon to get your nails painted decoratively. You can buy your own tools and do it yourself. It’s not at all difficult to do. In fact, it is too easy. If you’re a mom and you want some bonding moments with your kids, you can have fun with them by allowing them to apply the art tools on your fingernails.

Another type of nail art is piercing. This one is quite delicate and it will be best to allow a professional to do this job for you. The one who will be doing this should know what she is doing because any damage done will take some time to fix. For this reason, avoid getting hurt by not doing it yourself.

Artistic nails can be preserved. There are ways to take care of them to prolong their lives and to make them last long. Of course, you wouldn’t want something you’ve spent time and money for to be damaged that fast. One of the things that you should remember is that your nails should avoid contact with any strong chemicals. If you cannot avoid this, make sure that you will be wearing gloves first and foremost. Wear gloves also before washing the dishes or having your fingers wet.

Winter Fashion Jewelry

Perhaps it’s because of the poor economy or maybe it’s due to sensory overload, but fashion, in general, is taking it back to the basics. This season the current trend for jewelry is all about fashion fundamentals, with an emphasis on chunky.
Although statement necklaces are less of a classic basic and more of a recent trend, they are still considered the "must have" focal point to give your entire wardrobe a boost. Huge chains and bib necklaces continue to be great looks to go after. These oversized ornaments can really dress up the clean lines of a simple night time look, but don’t put them away during the day. Reinvent your white t-shirt and jeans by adding your favorite attention getter around your neck. When wearing a statement necklace, keep the rest of your outfit simple, sophisticated and subdued...allowing the jewelry to grab all the attention.

While statement necklace are still current, if you want to be fashion forward, look to bold earrings as the next statement piece of jewelry coming down the pike. Long, jewel encrusted or oversized, earrings are moving towards becoming the main jewelry piece. If you’re not ready to jump on this trend yet, hoop earrings have always been a fashion basic and continue to be on trend as a fashion fundamental.

The “it” color for accessories this fall is red. Red accents are a classic look, especially when worn with black, grey and white. You may be wearing bold pops of scarlet or crimson with your bag or shoes; a necklace, bracelet or earrings would add another level of an accent. “Matchy-matchy” is no longer in, so make sure to keep the colors bright, but not exactly the same hue.

Classics like pearls and chains are another basic that are popular now. Wear them long and layered or a single massive, short choker. Try wearing a mix of different size chains in a variety of metals and colors for a look with maximum impact. For a fresh flair, try wearing multiples of longer chains knotted low creating a “y”. This look can also be done with rope length strands of pearls reminiscent of 1920’s flapper fashion. When in doubt, go bold with gold. Metals and graphic elements play a big part in jewelry for the 2009-10 fall and winter season.

Head to toe black is back and dressing in this basic monochromatic look calls for black jewelry as well. Mixing matte and shiny black creates a very luxe look. If you are heading out to a holiday party and would prefer to add some drama, then bedazzling rhinestones are always a good way to go, but in a refined way now. Look for clear or metallic colored crystals paired with dark metal.

Choosing The Right Bag for Yourself

Bags are some of the most important accessories in everyone's wardrobe. Since it serves not only as an accessory, but also has to be comfortable, it is sometimes excessively hard to choose the right one.

First of all you should define what purpose it serves and where you intend to use it. The question is whether you need it more as an accessory or as something useful outside the scope of aesthetics. The difference between the two is mostly in size. If you need a bag as an accessory you should pick a smaller one and it should be noticeable. If your bag serves the lone purpose of carrying things, which you need for your job or studies, it should be bigger, more comfortable and simpler.

The most important thing is to match it to your style. For example if you prefer a sporty style - pick a satchel. If you are more into a bohemian style - it should be larger, worn on one shoulder and made of original material. Elegant women should choose middle-sized neutral colored leather bags.

Don't forget that bags also go out of fashion, so if you want to look trendy, you should purchase at least one new bag every year. For example, this year, bags with lots of metal details are at the top. No matter what style you prefer, you can always find something suitable for you and trendy at the same time.

Before purchasing a bag, always check what color dominates in your wardrobe. Don't forget that you'll wear it daily so it has to go perfectly with the majority of your clothes and shoes. If you notice that there is no dominating color, your wardrobe is very colorful - buy a colorful bag, so it'll be easy to match it with anything you wear.

While choosing a bag as an accessory more than as a thing for carrying, have in mind one rule - the smaller the better. Small handbags are very elegant and can make for a very nice hint of style. Nothing can substitute a small black handbag, with small jewels if you want to give off an effect of a luxurious and elegant woman.

When it comes to bags for men, the same rules apply, only it is a lot easier. First of all, consider what you are going to use it for. Is it a bag for carrying various papers, books and other similar things, or do you need it only for your cell phone, documents and wallet. In the first case, you should define you style (for example, sporty, saggy, punk, elegant) and choose the bag accordingly. The easiest way out in this case is a simple black one-shoulder bag made of leather. The small variant is even easier - it doesn't have to perfectly fit your style, because usually they go perfectly with anything.

Basically, the most important thing is to consider is the purpose of your bag. When you define its use just match it with your style. Don't forget to check out the colors of your wardrobe or you'll have to purchase a number of them instead of having one that fits your wardrobe perfectly.

Fashion Nail Art

Nail art is a creative activity that draws pictures or designs fingernails. It a type of art. These days fingernails and toenails are seen by some as important points of beauty.

Also, it is a type of fashion activity, related to manicuring. There are commercial shops ('nail bars') where nails are worked on to make them attractive.

Nail art seems to be catching on in fashion lately. I see hand and foot salon adding nail art to their list of services. I can understand why women love having their nails done and consequently, adding some art into it and not just plain colors. It is another way of expressing oneself and standing out of the crowd.

We often consider our nails as just a simple part of our hands and feet. But with nail art becoming popular among the middle class, it's changing everyone's perspective and ordinary people are beginning to appreciate the artistic beauty of creative nail arts and I'm one of the people that appreciate and loves nail arts.

Fashion jewelry Trends This Year

The costume jewelry trends these past seasons have been practically just swimming around the same concept: “Bold and Bulging” with over the top detailing and chunky features. The more the merrier as they say, the trends are even more focused with a hybrid of natural materials and various metals. Modern artistry still prevails in the upper market with usage of more long-lasting and sustainable materials such as sterling silver gold-filled and stainless steel metals– I’ve read before in an intensive analysis on jewelry industry in the Philippines that these are what’s called “Bridge Jewelry”, since they are positioned between Fine and Costume/Fashion jewelry.

Ornamented & Bold Bracelets
This pattern has been scorching for a while considering that Louis Vuitton produced a significant statement with his embellished cuff designs. Wonderfully dyed leather cuffs reminiscent of “surfer chic” with ornamentation are generating much rave and substantial Lucite confetti bangles like in the old 50s and 60s, metal cuffs with charms, studs and crystals are all big and bold.

Eclectic /All-natural Ethnic /Tribal
Ethnic and regional styles are often very hot and this year has no exception. Taking from the Native American or African use of natural stones like turquoise, agates, onyx, opaque and other stones in rock candy colors as seen in high stop styles of Oscar Heyman and Katy Briscoe. Beautiful pale angelskin coral and red coral, whether utilized in their raw type or faceted are still not to be missed. Bringing all these together is just one concept: Mother Nature.

Fake & Genuine Pearls
Pearls yell pure classicism. For centuries they have been hugely desired for their natural class and exclusive appeal. Used in the Victorian Era, pearls have evolved from simple one-strand to numerous layers and layers of beautifully hand crafted balls. Even Cartier has revived their classic styling in a lot more eye catching pearl with diamonds as added details. Pearls can be worn with edgy metals and other ornaments to have that feel of “warrior princess” but still exuding glamour.

Long - Medium Length Hairstyles for Men

Medium Length Hairstyles

This style has incredible forward movement which means you must communicate with your stylist about creating texture in the hair. Whenever you have a style that has a longer bang, you have to be careful of weight and bulk in the bangs. If the bangs are too heavy, the hair will hang on your forehead, potentially creating a bowl-like style. Have your stylist break up the bulk of a long bang with a straightedge razor or texturizing shears. This will create dimension and movement, allowing the bangs to swing off to the side. If you have stick-straight hair, you can achieve this look, but may take the use of a blow dryer to get the bang moving in the direction you’d like. Polish off this look with a light hold matte hair paste. I recommend matte because the focus is on the bang and applying a product with too much shine in it may appear to make your hair look greasy.

Long Length Hairstyles

Volumous and free flowing, wear your wavy mane with proud by wearing it long. The longer length will demonstrate your curl at its finest, but be sure and have your stylist cut shape into your mane. You still will want to maintain control because a one-length style does not compliment curls the best. Once shaped, you can wear the waves au natural, or for a variation as shown in this picture, create a off-middle part, take a flat boar-bristle brush to the bang area and blow out the front smooth. This will relax the over-all effect of a wavy style. Use products that will fight humidity and control frizz. Finish the look with a few drops of a liquid shine product dispensed into your palms then dispersed through your wavy locks.

Make Your Lip More Sexy

A form of body piercing that is growing in popularity is that of lip piercing. From the rich and the famous to the not so famous, both men and women are turning to lip piercing as a means of self expression. The lip piercing features a fairly quick and painless recovery period and there is literally a plethora of choices from rings to bar bells to captured beads. All of these allow one to freely express them selves in a different way every day of the year provided that they have enough jewelry.

A Lip piercing is a type of body piercing which penetrate the lips, or the area surrounding the lips. The lips and surrounding area can be pierced in a variety of ways. Of the possible piercing locations available, the ones that are most commonly referred to are those of the Monroe, Medusa and labrets.

The Labret piercing can further be separated into different types. The first type of labret piercing is those on the upper lip similar to that of the Monroe piercing but there is no particular placement. Basically, if it is not localized for a Monroe piercing, then it is just a standard labret piercing.

Lip piercing can also be done in sets which are known as bites. In the bites style of lip piercing, there are usually two piercing and two studs on opposite sides of the lips. When these pairs of piercing are on the upper lip they are known as angelbites whereas when they are located on the lower lips they are most commonly referred to as snakebites. There is also the venombites in which the lower lips piercing are located close together. You also have the caninebites in which a angelbite piercing is combined with a snakebite piercing but rather than using 4 studs, the upper piercing holes are studded to the lower holes. Finally there is the spiderbites which places three piercing, one in the center and two off to either side in equal distances from the first.

Can Your Hair Turn White or Gray Overnight?

You've heard tales of extreme fright or stress turning a person's hair suddenly gray or white overnight, but can it really happen? History records that the hair of some condemned prisoners [e.g., Thomas More (1535) and Marie Antoinette (1793)] turned white overnight before their executions. However, I am unaware of any modern reports of this happening. It's documented your apparent natural haircolor can change over the course of several weeks/months from conditions that affect your hormones (such as pregnancy) or from taking certain medications (like chemotherapy), but can you go gray overnight? Let's look at the chemistry of hair to answer the question.

Hair is a protein that gets its natural color from the presence of a pigment called melanin. Anyone who has bleached their hair can tell you it's chemically possible to render the melanin colorless. Therefore if your sudden fright has something to do with exposure to ionizing radiation or bleach, I can see white hair being a possible outcome, though less likely than baldness or death. Seriously, unless you are playing with toxic radiation or chemicals, you can't instantly change your hair color.
Can fear or stress or any extraordinary emotion change the color of your hair? Yes, but not instantly. Your psychological state has a significant impact on the hormones that can effect the amount of melanin deposited in each strand of hair, but the effect of emotion takes a long time to see. The hair you see on your head emerged from its follicle a long time ago. So, graying or any other color change is a gradual process, occurring over the course of several weeks, months, or years.

Your emotions can't instantly change the color of your hair, but it is possible you could turn gray overnight. How? A medical condition termed "diffuse alopecia areata" can result in sudden hair loss. The biochemistry of alopecia isn't well understood, but in people who have a mix of dark and gray or white hair, the uncolored hair is less likely to fall out. The result? A person can appear to go gray overnight. Although I didn't find any references on this, the implication to me is your hair thins or you become bald if you don't have any gray hair, which for some reason is less resistant to the effect. Sudden hair loss can be caused by certain drugs, medical conditions, or by sudden stress. It tends to occur over the course of several days/weeks, but the result is still dramatic.

Find the right foundation for your skin

Ask 10 women which foundation they use and you are likely to get 10 different answers. With at least hundreds of foundations to choose from, shopping can be frustrating. Foundation formulas are also geared toward specific skin types, which is yet another reason it’s important to be educated about your skin. I asked my friend Kevin James Bennett, an Emmy Award-winning makeup artist and creative director of MADE NYCBennett, for some inside scoop on makeup.Q. What’s your favorite foundation?

Skin type plays a big role in choosing a foundation. But whether you have oily, blemished or mature skin, I recommend a silicone-based formula because it rides on the surface of the skin, and won’t absorb or accentuate less-than-perfect texture, lines or wrinkles. All skin types can try Becca Stick Foundation, which offers full coverage in 30 (yes, 30!) shades, so there’s something for everyone. My budget-minded favorite is Mehron Celebre Pro-HD because it’s inexpensive for a high-quality, full-coverage cream makeup. For normal to dry skin, I love Face Atelier Ultra Foundation because it has a silicone-based primer built in.Q. Do you prefer liquid foundation or powder?
I shy away from powder foundations. Even though they might be easy to use and offer better portability, a good liquid foundation will always look more like skin and won’t accentuate fine lines and surface texture.Q. Should we apply with sponges, fingers or brushes?
For sanitary reasons and better application, I prefer sponges and brushes. I prefer to dab foundation (with a cotton swab) onto areas that need coverage and then blend with a clean, synthetic foundation brush or a non-latex sponge. Using a swab prevents contaminating foundation with bacteria, and wastes a lot less than applying directly to a sponge or makeup brush.Q. What do you recommend for covering tattoos or other skin imperfections like bruises, vitiligo, melisma and port wine stains?
My go-to foundation for super-high coverage is CoverFX Total Coverage Cream Foundation SPF 30, and it comes in 32 shades. Q. Is there anything that truly masks dark undereye circles?
Check out Keromask Masking Cream by Kristy Cosmetics and Amazing Cosmetics’ Amazing Concealer. (The key to the best concealer result is to start with only a little cream, and blend, blend, blend!)Q. Any foundation tips if you’re going to be taking a lot of pictures?
Make sure all edges are blended properly (there’s nothing worse than see a line of demarcation where foundation ends and your skin begins). Carry blotting papers to freshen foundation. They remove excess oil, leave no residue and won’t disturb your makeup. (Powdering to reduce shine will result in a cakey-looking mess after repeated applications.)Q. Do HD foundations work?
Some do and some don’t. Certain companies use the HD (high definition) name as a marketing ploy because it’s a big buzzword. Others create formulations specifically made to comply with HD format media. If you can see foundation texture after application, it’s not genuinely HD compliant. An HD camera can see up to six times closer than the human eye, so if you can see foundation on the skin, the camera definitely will.Q. How can you find a great makeup artist?
When you see someone with a fantastic makeup application at a party or event, ask who did it. If you’re shopping for an artist and have only seen pictures of their work, be sure to ask for a few references (and consider scheduling a test-run before your big event).

Men's Fashion In India 2012

Elegance is the essence of Italian life. Most Italians will give up anything to achieve elegance. Fashion to Italians is almost an obsession. All you need to do is to sit around the piazzas or side walk cafés and watch the Italian males strut around in their latest sartorial elegance. Maybe this is the reason why some of the most famous fashion designers are either Italians or are based in Italy.
Italian fashion usually heralds the fashion trends that the rest of the world follows. These are usually trends that flaunt the wearer’s best assets and conceal the imperfections. But Italians are also very sensible people, they do follow trends but they also are conscious about durability, timelessness and authenticity of their clothes. For Italians, clothes are not everything. Italian fashion is a way of life, a mind-set of classiness, custom-made and smoothness.

It pays to be aware of the Italian fashion trend if a guy wants to be ahead in the fashion game. And it is not difficult to know what the Italians are wearing, it is very easily available. A click of an internet button, a peek at all the most exclusive boutiques, even a stroll at all the big shopping malls, Italian fashion will confront you.
One of the most well-known Italian fashion houses is Dolce & Gabbana founded by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana who are as prolific in their designs today as when they started. They offer not only clothes but also accessories such as perfume, sun glasses and the like for both men and women. The Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection was focused around unconventional tailoring in texture, color and dimensions inspired by innovative fashion icon and musician Bryan Ferry. This eccentric chic is explicitly articulated in a short red jacket paired with trousers with a loose fit and tight cuff.
The House of Valentino, another celebrated Italian fashion house, on the other hand, incorporated contemporary edge to sartorial elegance. Their fall/winter collection is centered on fine tailoring and luxurious knits – outerwear with leather and fur details, warm customized cashmere cardigans, leather peacoats, duffel jackets and classic suits.

Amber Rose: Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian, they’re both way more famous than I am, so I’m sure they’re getting it probably a little more than I do or did. We’re all human beings, celebrity or not, we all make mistakes. we all go through trials and tribulations in our lives and you have to overcome it. just pray. whatever you believe in, just pray and really keep your life very positive, that’s what I do.
If you follow me on Twitter, you know I’m all about women’s empowerment, girl power, being inspirational, being dope and doing things that make me happy. at the end of the day, you can’t live your life for other people. People are always going to judge you no matter what. They’re going to judge me on my music, they’re going to judge me on my hair, they’re going to judge me on my outfit, but at the end of the day I’m happy! So, Justin Bieber, he’ll get over it. whatever happens, he’ll move on, he’s super talented, he’ll still be successful.
With Kim Kardashian, I think a lot of people think that it was all fake, it was all phony. you never know what goes on in someone’s life, you can only really assume. you never know what happened! People judge me all the time but they don’t know my life, they don’t know where I come from, what I go through, or what I’ve been through.
Kanye recently shouted you out when he was on stage in Philly. He basically thanked Philly for making you. what do you think about that?

Bill and jay Chou's video adventure

Carey Editor's Note: Over the past few months, Bill and Jay became friends and developed a bad habit of finding live performances on YouTube, e-mailing them to each other, then wasting valuable time overanalyzing them for no real purpose whatsoever. Recently, they decided to drag others into their time-wasting vortex by forcing Grantland editor Lane Brown to regularly publish these e-mails on the Hollywood Prospectus.
  Here's Volume 1: Mariah Carey's Greatest Moment.
Bill: Hey Jay, come back to 1992 with me — back when MTV ran Beavis and Butt-Head episodes and had homophobic roommates on the Real World. I know, I know, it kinda sounds like 2011. But trust me, it was totally different. One of their best shows was MTV Unplugged, which usually featured the likes of Squeeze, Eric Clapton and Pearl Jam stripping their music down with acoustic performances. (Semi-related: Pearl Jam submitted the best Unplugged of all time. You're not topping this or this for an Unplugged show. Sorry. The "Nothing else matters from the early-'90s but Nirvana" fans can blow me.) Since they rarely dipped out of the rock world for these shows (LL Cool J's surprisingly competent 1991 Unplugged a rare exception), I remember thinking Mariah Carey was a strange choice for the series. Back then, she was just the semi-cheesy New Yorker with great pipes who (a) allegedly got into the business because she started banging Tommy Mottola, and (b) wasn't as good as Whitney Houston.
Jay: I've always found it counterintuitive that two of the great singing talents of the past twenty years (Mariah and Celine Dion) both started off their careers as "the girl who got a recording contract by sleeping with a much older record industry guy." Is this just a coincidence? Is there something about ultra-talented young divas that draws them toward father figure types who can shield them against some of the nastier parts of fame?
Bill: This is awkward — that's how I got my ESPN.com gig in 2001, by sleeping with John Walsh.
Jay: Here's my theory: Old nasty record industry guys sleep with all their protégés. And with Celine and Mariah, both guys were smart enough to realize that they had something special and lasting that they could ride into a happy and lucrative future. When you watch Mariah's greatest Unplugged moment — her cover of the Jackson Five's "I'll Be There" — it's pretty clear why Tommy Mottola, who, by the way, also had a big hand in developing Celine's career, ended up being the record industry guy who defined so much of the '90s sound. Everything here is perfect: the intimate nightclub lighting, the crowded yet somehow understated stage, Mariah's hair, her simple, black outfit, the old bald guy playing the piano, the eight backup singers and the fact that Mariah, the Queen of the High Notes, was gracious enough to yield the vocal acrobatics to Trey Lorenz.

Check out some excerpts from his interview with mag:
On giving back to his hometown: “I remember growing up not having a lot, especially around Christmastime. We had to get stuff from the food bank, so one of the charities we’re helping out is the food bank in my town. I want every one of my fans to feel like they’re helping out the world in some way. And being the one to influence them to do that, that’s something positive I can do with what God’s given me.”
On re-recording Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You: “Yes, that was high. But I grinded it out and we got it down.”

The Twilight Saga

And so … the worldwide promo machine for the upcoming sequel film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 has officially gotten underway this weekend with the film’s first movie premiere. Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene were both on hand in Paris, France this weekend for the first (of many) premieres for Breaking Dawn. Gone was R. Pattz‘s recent bushy beard and in its place was left a stubbly goatee. It’s that time again … time for Twilight to start taking over the world again.

She’s so classically lovely that one might say Ashley Greene is almost preternaturally beautiful. The 24-year-old starlet sported a gorgeous, ethereal glow at the French premiere of the fourth Twilight Saga film, Breaking Dawn: Part 1, in Paris yesterday. The actress wore a tailored blue Givenchy dress that showed off her curves … Although his love, co-star Kristen Stewart, wasn’t present, Robert Pattinson also showed off a much improved look that the one he sported two days ago. His beard may have been patchy, but the 25-year-old Brit’s trimmed facial hair was much preferable to the werewolf-like beard he displayed when arriving at LAX on Friday. He looked gorgeous and dapper in a slim-fitting charcoal Dolce&Gabbana suit over a striped shirt, though in typical sloppy Pattinson fashion, his shoelaces were untied on the red carpet. Ashley and Rob played vampire siblings Alice and Edward Cullen in the Twilight series films. Of her on-screen brother’s bumbling interview style, the brunette beauty recently joked to Allure magazine: ‘Oh, Rob. He’s very endearing, but you’ve seen his interviews. He’s like, Ah, I don’t know… Oh, God.’ However, Rob seemed anything but awkward as he mugged for cameras and took photographs with fans gathered at the Cinema Gaumont Capucine. The fourth film in the series is set to open in both the USA and the UK on November 18.
I guess I haven’t been paying much attention but, yeah, we are just about a month away from the release of Breaking Dawn in theaters. It’s funny, it seemed like the first part of the final installment of the Twilight film franchise was many, many months away (late November seemed like a long way off) … and now, it’s practically here. I suspect we’ll be seeing other premieres all around the world with various castmembers showing up here and there. It’s Twilight time again, are y’all ready?

Ashley Greene Covers BlackBook

Ashley Greene graces cover page of BlackBook magazine’s November 2011 issue. The 24-year-old actress is looking dramatic on cover wearing interesting metallic dress with her hair worn down.

Check out some excerpts from Ashley’s interview:
On dating rumors: “I’m dating everyone! My brother lives in LA and won’t even walk outside a restaurant with me. He’s like, ‘I don’t want to be romantically linked to you.’”
On past jobs: “I worked at the dry cleaner across from my school, I worked accounts payable for a company, I did hosting, I worked at a bowling alley, I worked at a boutique. I worked at a hotel, I worked at a restaurant, I did modeling, I worked everywhere. And I didn’t get fired!”
On having a tough dad: “My dad used to be in the Marines, so no one is going to give him flack. At 14, I was being a little brat, I thought I knew everything, and my dad was like, ‘I own your bed, your TV, everything.’ There was a lot of discipline, and with what I’m doing now, I’m glad for it.”

Magazine cover character

f
When Cheryl Cole arrived at the Glamour magazine Awards in central London, she looked skinnier than ever with her gigantic hair and extremely revealing low-cut lingerie-style outfit. Cheryl Cole was there to accept Woman of the Year prize, which was selected by the fashion magazine's readers.
Her slender body was overstated by her thriving mane of hair which had been swept up onto one side of her face. Which not only gave it a high fashioned look, but also added a lot of volume to her hair!
She was clothed in a specifically designed Julien Macdonald dress with an elegant touch and was presented with her award by a very popular actor Jason Lewis!
So what do you think about this gown? Is it a hit or a miss?

WSJ. Fashion Magazine

WSJ. Magazine editor Deborah Needleman is ripping a page out of the Richard Beckman playbook: On Oct. 27, WSJ. Magazine will host its first awards ceremony at MoMa to honor so-called Innovators of the Year. Awards are being given out in diverse and somewhat incongruous categories:

Wall Street Journal Magazine
fashion, art, food, philanthropy, design, technology and architecture. But, Needleman said, that’s done by design.
“The business side was, like, ‘Is there something you’d like to do?’ And it kind of made sense,” she said. “Of course everybody has an awards ceremony and I was never more aware of than I am right this minute producing one, how many there are out there, but innovation is sort of — I hate this word — the DNA of the magazine. Everything we do in the magazine is about influence, creativity and innovation.
“We’re not a straight-up fashion magazine, we’re not a straight-up business magazine,” she continued. “I feel like making a magazine is a bit like making a community — and our community is made up of art, fashion, food, philanthropy, design, architecture, and those are the natural categories for the event.”
At the ceremony, Marc Jacobs will present Katie Grand the award for fashion innovator of the year. Marina Abramovic will accept the award for Ai Weiwei — the Chinese artist imprisoned and subsequently released by the Chinese government who was recently named by ArtReview as the most powerful artist in the world — for best art innovator. Jonathan Safran Foer will present the food innovator award to — wait for it — Chipotle founder Steve Ells. Other winners include Elon Musk (technology), Joris Laarman (design) and Bjarke Ingels (architecture). Bill Gates and Warren Buffett got the philanthropy award, but will not be at the ceremony.
WSJ’s Innovators issue comes out Oct. 29.
In other WSJ news, the magazine’s deputy editor, Michael Caruso, is leaving after arriving just four months ago to become editor in chief of Smithsonian Magazine.
“He brought good stories and writers to the magazine, and he is an excellent editor,” said Needleman. “And I’m happy he’s got this new opportunity to run his own show.”
Needleman said she’s not sure if she’s going to hire a replacement. Since Ruth Altchek was promoted to editor of Off Duty in the late summer, Needleman has been spending most of her time with the monthly magazine.

The beautiful white dress magazine

I've always thought lace wedding dresses were romantic, but they've always seemed a little too old-fashioned for my taste.

View the full Carolina Herrera Fall 2012 collection on Brides.com.
But this lacy-looking Carolina Herrera wedding dress is positively modern! I know it's not exactly lace, but the fabric—which is probably either laser- or die-cut—definitely looks positively doily-esque! And I love it!
Would you wear a wedding dress made with this modern interpretation of lace?

Plain yan of a fashion magazine

European fashion magazines are better than their American counterparts because they're less focused on the star quality of their cover stars (every celebrity is promoting something) and more concerned with what they should be: fashion. And they're easily mockable, as Jezebel points out. The covers of European fashion magazines are more interesting, too. Take the concept of the main editorial in the April issue of French Elle: stars without makeup. Can you really imagine Anna Wintour approving of that editorial, nevertheless placing it on the cover?

The publishing industry is thanking its various gods- luck

Fashion Magazines
The publishing industry is thanking its various gods- luck, tenacity, and savvy- for the recent news that ad pages are finally back on an upward swing. According to the Publishers Information Bureau, ad pages are up 2.5% for the last quarter. Out of the fashion magazines, Vogue finished in first, up 10% from last year.
During the dark days of 2008-2009, the industry endured a life-altering seismic shift as ad pages dropped severely due to the recession. The loss of profit set off a torrent of lay-offs and magazine closings. Staffs of 200 were whittled to twenty, and unemployment offices- especially in New York- filled with down-trodden writers, editors, and administrative staff from once powerful publications. With the burgeoning online industry, many said print was dead. However, now it looks like the worst is most likely over; this most recent report signifies the fourth straight quarter that ad pages have increased, solidifying this as a true trend.

Vogue magazine is arguably the best known fashion magazine in the world.

Vogue magazine is arguably the best known fashion magazine in the world. Madonna paid homage to it in her 1990 song ‘Vogue’. It has even been parodied in the book and film The Devil Wears Prada, and most recently in the television series Ugly Betty. However, as magazine circulation figures have suffered as a result of the new media boom, the magazine has looked increasingly to its website to sustain and increase readership.
The main Vogue websites are the American and British ones, although most of the international editions of the magazine also have their own unique Vogue website. Looking at the British website (www.vogue.com) it is easy to see why Vogue is staying ahead of the competition, as there are many good uses of new media forms on the website. The design of the website is classic and appears to use the same style guide as the magazine. The content includes a brilliant search engine, which allows the user to look through all of the past covers, models, designers and catwalks. The news section is kept very up to date, which is particularly important as fashion is constantly changing. The website contains pretty standard content that you would expect such as news and features, but also has its own Vogue TV which shows regularly updated video’s about the latest fashion news and catwalk shows.
I think that use of the Vogue TV is particularly relevant as not only does the print publication have to deal with the threat of rival magazines but also from television channels such as Fashion TV. Therefore by creating their own TV channel/ video clips, they are keeping the users interest in their website and magazine and pretending them from looking else where for that kind of media content. It’s a clever way of combing the different mediums to keep the audiences attention. The video’s can also be downloaded on to your iPod / MP3 player as pod casts. The only problem with Vogue TV is that it has a design flaw in that you can’t switch it off from the home page or turn the volume down, and so if you don’t want to watch the same video over and over again while browsing the home page, there isn’t much you can do.
Other uses of new media features on the website include competitions, blogs, a forum, and an online clothes shop. The blogs by the fashion experts are regularly updated but don’t allow for comments, which is something that would probably allow greater interactivity if that option was available. However, site users' do get to interact with the content of the website through a blog, and there is an option to subscribe to a daily newsletter which keeps users update with the Vogue even if they don’t regularly check the site. The clothes shop adds another element where the website can make more money by linking trends featured in the magazine and online to clothes that they sell to encourage sales and further profits. You can also buy copies of the print magazine and subscriptions to it online which links the site back the original publication. Overall I think the UK version of online Vogue is up to date with the developments in new media, however, there could be more interactivity with the user, giving them more freedom to comment perhaps on stories and the videos.
In comparison to the US Vogue website, the British site makes greater use of new media to promote the magazine as well as the brand itself. The US Vogue site has recently been merged with the W magazine to form style.com, almost as a separate entity to the print publications rather than a complimentary site to the magazine. The Vogue section of style.com makes better use of forums than its British counterpart, as it is more interactive, separated into sections where as the British forum is more of a comment box. The US Vogue website also features model diaries and a model search, however, I think the content on the British Vogue site is more detailed, up to date and in keeping with the magazine content.

Gossip Girls Blake Lively And Taylor Momsen hold Vogue fe

I don’t watch TV. Not because I wouldn’t, normally, but mostly because I have no time to do so. Instead, I keep up with everything using that wonderful tool called Internet.
Every now and then I get swept off by some smashing TV hit (24h, Prison Break, Heroes, The Office) but that’s about it. So, naturally, Gossip Girl frenzy is slightly beyond my understanding. We have a family friend who’d completely stuck on Gossip Girl, but not us. No-oh!

Taylor Momsen Page Six Magazine cover
I had to use Youtube to get my Gossip Girl slice? If anything like that falls in the hands of a regular GG fan, I must look overdosed with ignorance.
But Vogue And Page Six Magazine, both highly respectable publications decided to make my Gossip culture.
I can understand Page Six, it’s gossip-ish after all. But Vogue? (more after the jump)
While young Taylor Momsen covers Page Six Magazine being 15 years old and talking about fashion (and other things), Blake Lively covers Vogue February. While browsing scenes with Blake Lively as Serena from Gossip Girl, I couldn’t understand why and how she got this amazing Vogue cover. Normally I could protest about not seeing a model on a fashion magazine cover. Now it seems I should be happy with a worthy actress or famous face.

Blake Lively Vogue US February cover
As far as the explanation for giving Blake a Vogue cover (coming from Vogue’s spokesman, Patrick O’Connell), I’ll just leave it for you to comment:
“She’s the girl of the moment who also has a hit show that people watch as much for the fashion as for the show itself.”
